The North-west recorded a broad spectrum of performance in terms of planning approvals from August to November. Education saw the highest year-on-year growth, which looks to have ensured growth for the sector as a whole in the year. The office pipeline also increased sharply over the period. Provisional figures suggest it doubled year on year during 2013. Social housing's decline can largely be attributed to a particularly strong comparison period in 2012, while private housing was among the star performers over the four months.
