Paul Sheffield will consider jobs outside the construction industry when he leaves Kier in June, after deciding the time was right to move on from the group where he has been chief executive for almost four years. Mr Sheffield will step down as chief executive of Kier on 30 June and will retire from the board at the same time. Group finance director Haydn Mursell will become chief executive on 1 July 2014. Mr Sheffield told Construction News: "It was a tough call but with the business doing really well I felt it was probably the best time to take the next step. "At the end of June I'll be into my fifth year. There are loads of other things to have a look at and get involved in.
