How do you get more women into construction? It's not something I had ever stopped to consider. I have never been bothered by being the only woman in the room. I believed that in the workspace, if you worked hard then you would get suitably rewarded whatever your gender. I felt it was enough for me to try to lead by example. This long-held view began to change last year when I got involved in the WICE awards. I didn't think much of it at the time.
