Talks over funding the rest of Crossrail continue, after Transport for London (TfL) and the Department for Transport (DfT) reached a funding agreement worth about £1.7bn for the rest of the financial year, although that figure could rise if passenger numbers are lower than forecast. Crossrail project sponsors TfL and the DfT had been locked in a public row over a Whitehall bailout for TfL, which has seen income from fares plummet during the coronavirus crisis.The agreement does not extend to the rest of the Crossrail project, with talks ongoing between the two parties about the extra £1.1bn needed to complete the project.
