A total of 35 construction companies fell into administration in May, Construction News can reveal. This compares to just nine companies collapsing in April, a month in which many firms turned to government-backed support to boost cashflow as the coronavirus crisis began to bite. The number of administrations includes seven Irish-registered companies that carry out work in the UK. The total is lower than the number recorded in February, when the industry was hit by 36 administrations, according to data provided by Creditsafe.
