It is well documented that the global construction industry has not, as a whole, delivered the productivity gains seen in other industries. Much has been written about why has recognised the industry's fragmented ecosystem. With so many niche components in the supply chain, all required to collaborate, they often do so without the national or international unifying approaches embraced by other global sectors. Instead, individual firms or collections of firms are relied upon to recognise the value of collaboration and invest in it for the benefit of the client, the users and wider society.
