Willmott calls for combustibles 'rethink'

Willmott Dixon group chief executive Rick Willmott has warned that efforts to eradicate dangerous building materials in the wake of the Grenfell tragedy risk going "too far", creating huge challenges for builders and housing associations. Speaking to Construction News prior to the COVID-19 lockdown, which among other consequences has halted deliberations in the Grenfell Inquiry, Willmott said combustible materials were "very sensitive territory post-Grenfell, and very rightly so. But we're perhaps going too far. The realism, the pragmatism is going."
