A Morgan Sindall worker's hand was severed by a biomass boiler he was inspecting at a British Army barracks. The 27-year-old was investigating whether a blockage had caused a hydraulic ram to stop working when the machine reactivated and amputated his hand. The incident, which took place at the King's Troop Artillery Barracks in Woolwich, south London, in April 2017, prompted an investigation by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).
