The construction industry is expected to experience its sharpest fall on record in 2009, falling 15% after a I % fall in 2008. A further fall of 2% is anticipated in 2010 before the industry returns to growth. Significant growth is only anticipated in 2012 with further growth in 201 3. However following this, if construction experienced trend growth in output each year, the industry would only return to 2007 peak level of output in 2021.
