Stock markets around the world took a pounding in July and August as concerns over government debt on both sides of the Atlantic precipitated something of a crisis.Although not quite another "Lehman moment", with share prices finding support instead of going into freefall, the severity of the problems and the challenges ahead are not to be underestimated.
