Vogele's SPRAYJET technology was used in April by contractor Franz Schelle to pave low-noise asphalt on a 550 m road in Munich, Germany. Using a Vogele super 1800-2 with a SprayJet Module and an AB 500-2 extending screed for the wearing course, the contractor said up to 50% was saved on material costs. The main road through Munich's Haidhausen district was selected for a new wearing course under one the Bavarian government's several rehabilitation projects designed to reduce traffic noise in the city. Low-noise stone mastic asphalt was used for the job, but to ensure that the material was effective, it was important that the number of joints in the new surface was kept as small as possible.
