The european commission has finally published a new White Paper entitled "Roadmap to a Single European Transport Area - Towards a competitive and resource efficient transport system", which proposes an ambitious and comprehensive strategy for the development of transport in the European Union by 2050. Published on March 28, the White Paper aims to replace and update the 2001 White Paper on EU transport policy, and follows a lengthy assessment and consultation process in which FIEC actively participated.
