Need to be aware of French law

Before participating in a construction project in France, international contractors should be aware of French Law No 75-1334, which was enacted on 31 December, 1975, and governs subcontract agreements for projects in France -despite the governing law chosen by the parties. The French Court of Cassation ruled on the public policy character of such a law in order to impose its mandatory application on any contractors if the construction project is located in France, even where the sub-contract designates a foreign governing law.
