On 31 July 2012, European Commissioner Antonio Tajani unveiled a Strategy for the Sustainable Competitiveness of the Construction Sector and its Enterprises - a communication that was immediately welcomed by CECE. CECE President Johann Sailer heralded the strategy as a very good initiative to pave the way for sustainable growth in the construction sector, which influences the development of the overall economy. Mr Sailer said, "Construction equipment is part of this picture, since our machines are key tools for the increase in productivity, the environmental performance and the innovative processes that are needed to achieve targets."
