Engine and compact equipment manufacturer Yanmar is celebrating 100 years in business in 2012. Founded in 1912 in Japan by Magokichi Yamaoka, the company now has a global workforce of over 15,000, and a sales network operating in more than 130 countries. Founder Yamaoka was convinced that the future lay with efficient diesel power. Now, Yanmar diesel engines and equipment are designed and manufactured for a wide range of applications, and the company has also developed clean emissions technology and sustainable energy systems.
