Sandvik is to cease manufacturing at its mobile crushing and screening equipment plant in Swadlincote, UK. Production will be transferred to the company's Ballygawley, Northern Ireland, plant, which manufactures similar machines. It said the decision to phase out production over the next 12 months followed a review of its UK manufacturing capacity and a supply chain optimisation programme. JCB has announced plans to close its factory in Gatersleben, Germany. JCB acquired the factory when it bought German compaction equipment manufacturer Vibromax in 2005.
