CECE Congress 2020

The first ever virtual CECE Congresss took place last month, organised with the help of the Swedish Association for Construction Equipment, SACE. The event was televised from a Stockholm studio, and the agenda was carefully selected to grab attention and challenge historical industry opinion. Throughout the event, the main speakers from CECE - the association's president, Niklas Nillroth and its secretary-genera Riccardo Viaggi - stressed the need for continued digital transformation, from the perspective of recruiting new talent as well as enhancing efficiency and sustainability. Nillroth also spoke about technology's role in bolstering Europe's competitive position in the global construction arena, saying, "I believe we need to further strengthen, in terms of collaboration and really understanding the complete value chain and our role in society to leverage new technologies - not least because the competition from other areas of the world is stepping up."
