It's the largest construction machinery trade fair in the world, it takes place in April, and the construction industry will be descending on Munich, Germany, for its three-yearly taste of Bauma and the chance to see what is new. Taking place from 8 to 14 April, 2019, it will be the 32nd edition of the trade fair for construction machinery, building material machines, mining machines, construction vehicles and construction equipment. It is hard to explain to anyone who has not attended Bauma in the past just how large it is, and how important it is to the industry. And the show has grown even since the 2016 edition. With two new halls and optimised layout planning of the outdoor areas, the 2019 show will cover 614,000m2, up from 605,000~2 last time. The organisers, Messe Munchen, are expecting more visitors than the 583,736 which attended the 2016 show, and there will be over 5,500 exhibitors from 55 countries, all set to meet those visitors. As one of the topics which is dominating almost every conversation in the construction industry at the moment, digitalisation will make its mark at the 2019 show. Cloud-based infrastructures, digital services portfolios and security solutions will all be on view. Bauma promises that the world's leading manufacturers will be presenting their developments at Messe Munchen, and there will be many discussions on the opportunities and challenges of new technologies.
