Panama City, Fla., has been converting used cooking oil into 820 biodiesel since April. Fleet manager Rich Caprario expects to cut diesel usage by about 5 percent, recouping the $15,000 investment within a year.rnThe biodiesel converter will process 150 gallons of cooking oil into 100 percent biodiesel in seven hours. Caprario mixes the bio with four parts diesel to produce 750 gallons of B20 that will run everything from heavy equipment to gen sets.
