Adm Rapeseed Acquisition Cleared

ADM has completed the acquisition of the German rapeseed crushing plant Campa Sued GmbH &. Co, after approval by the relevant antitrust authorities. The plant in Straubing, southern Germany, produces oil and meal for the food, feed and energy markets. "This acquisition strengthens ADM's softseed activities in Central and Eastern Europe," says Joe Taets, managing director, ADM Europe. "The plant's presence close to the markets of the Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia will enable ADM to work directly with the farming sector for the origination of softseed crops and will further enable the company to expand its leadership position in agricultural processing."
