摘要

A condition monitoring and fault diagnostic system for improved maintenance and operation of reciprocating compressor is needed. This paper presents experimental work carried out by actually creating faults on suction and discharge valves and piston rings. The cylinder air pressure signature, its harmonic components and performance parameters have been studied. It has been observed that the slope of the cylinder air pressure signature during expansion and compression changes with the type of fault. Performance parameters like volume flow rate and volumetric efficiency also change with fault.
