Cast stone in the built environment

Cast stone has been developed over a number of years as a high-performance, cost-effective alternative to natural stone. As defined by the UK Cast Stone Association (UKCSA), it is any product manufactured with aggregate and a cementitious binder, intended to resemble or be used in a similar way to natural stone. Its versatility enables the material to be used in almost any shape with a variety of finishes and to precise tolerances. Cast stone has been specified in projects ranging from domestic housing to cathedrals.
