Learning from the best

The report Rethinking Construction, published three years ago by Sir John Egan's Construction Task Force, delivered an analysis of the UK construction industry. It highlighted potential for the industry to become much more effective, reducing capital cost, construction time, defects and accidents, together with improving productivity, profitability and durability of structures, resulting in improvements in quality and value for money. The report proposed the creation of a 'movement for change' which would be a dynamic, inspirational, non-institutionalised body of people who believe in the need for radical improvement within the construction industry.
