Revolutionary change through the new DIN 1045: Technical fundamentals ― new technical approval procedures ― European perspectives

The technical fundamentals referred to in the caption were laid down in Parts 1 to 4 of the new DIN 1045 for the design and execution of concrete structures and in the European concrete standard DIN EN 206-1, both published in July 2001. The changes effected by them are not only of a technical nature. They are also of relevance to aspects established by the building authorities and to aspects of law ([1], [2] and [3]).
