ACI Certification Training Conducted in Iraq

A small group of Iraqi engineers had reason to celebrate recently after taking the first-ever ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician—Grade I examination conducted in their country. Twenty-one Iraqi engineers completed an intensive 8-day training course conducted by VIAP Iraq in Baghdad's International Zone to prepare for the exam. VIAP Iraq, a subsidiary of Versar, Inc., Springfield, VA, is a specialized engineering firm that provides construction quality assurance and oversight for U.S. Air Force construction projects throughout Iraq. VIAP staff taught the course and administered the exam on behalf of ACI as the first and only ACI Local Sponsoring Group in Iraq.
