Japan's liners post strong interims

K Line, Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL) and NYK Line have all reported much better results for their first half fiscal year, which closed on September 30,2007. In each case, turnover and profit for the period was significantly higher than in the corresponding period of 2006. This was a reflection of higher cargo volumes, firmer bulk charter rates and successful rate restoration programmes in several of their liner trades.
