South Korea's Incheon port is aiming to become the main logistics hub for northern China. Rebecca Moore reports on how its modern facilities, value-added services and proximity to Incheon International airport could allow it to realise its ambitions South Korea's Incheon Port has set itself the goal of becoming the number one logistics hub for the Yellow sea rim area of northern China. However, it faces intense competition, particularly from rival domestic ports, such as Busan and Kwangyang. These handle significantly more cargo and have a much larger number of direct call services in place. Nonetheless, Incheon feels its proximity to northern China and to South Korea's capital city Seoul, which accounts for 48% of the nation's GDP, put it in a very strong position to act as a regional logistics hub.
