Catalyzing a perfect storm: mobile phone-based HIV-prevention behavioral interventions

The paper reviews how mobile phone and computing technologies might be used to modify behaviors with negative health implications. The author defines three approaches to the problem: individually tailored interventions, such as computer-delivered training on ways young women can reduce infection risk; using interactive video to allow a viewer to choose various behaviors and see how the resulting scenario plays out; and targeting messages to populations at particular risk.
