Gaudeamus Competition Winners

The jury for the 2009 International Gaudeamus Music Week has rnnominated 15 compositions for the Gaudeamus Prize, which includes performances of works during the festival taking place 7-13 September 2009 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Of the 15 works chosen from 336 submissions, four were for electronic music. The electronic music winners include Thomas Bensdorp for feux d'Enfants (2008),rnThanasis Kaproulias for Silence, aircraft noises and harmonies in pain (2007), Michal Prynda for Untitled 3 for improvised piano and electronics (2008), and Yu Tao for del Demande (2006). One of the 15 nominees will be chosen for the Guadeamus Prize at the end of the festival.
