Update on Trademark Protection under New gTLD Rollout

The first round of gTLDs continues to rollout each week and many conclusions have yet to be reached on analyzing the successes, failures, unexpected issues, and overall market demand and acceptance for the new gTLD program. Nevertheless, trademark owners are beginning to gain valuable knowledge on the ways in which they will be able to protect their intellectual property as more new gTLDs go live. The coming years appear promising as ICANN aims to respond and adapt to what has been observed as the rollout progresses.
