Less Than Half of IT Organizations Have QA Staff

One factor to keep in mind is that less than half of all IT organizations staff this function with dedicated personnel. Figure 1 shows that in 2009, only 45% of our sample reported having QA staff. Even in organizations that have QA staff, such specialists often include only a few people. As such, to obtain meaningful benchmarks, we exclude organizations that do not staff this function from most of our metrics.
