A Message from the General Chairs

Welcome to Chicago and welcome to the ACM SIGCOMM 2014! It is a great pleasure to host one of ACM's flagship conferences and the leading conference in data communication and networking at the one-of-a-kind city of Chicago. As it is every year, this SIGCOMM is organized as a weeklong event around the main conference, with workshops and tutorials, posters and demos and several social events for greeting and meeting colleagues and friends. The main program, strong as always, is the result of the great work done by Sylvia Ratnasamy and Arvind Krishnamurthy and the fantastic program committee they put together. The week's events also include an exciting set of demos and posters organized by Dave Choffnes and Kun Tan, as well as a new Industrial demo session. Between Monday and Friday, there are 5 workshops on topical subjects and a handful of exciting tutorials. We thank the workshop chairs, Matt Caesar and Ming Zhang, the tutorial chairs, Sonia Fahmy and Jia Wang, and the different workshop chairs and tutorial organizers. This year, we have the pleasure to host one additional workshop on Sunday - N2Women. This is a great venue fostering connections among the underrepresented women in computer networking - thanks to Sami Rollins, Katia Jaffres-Runser and the N2Women Steering Committee for deciding to collocate their workshop with SIGCOMM 2014.
