摘要

This paper depicts the processing and mechanical characterization of a new class of multiphase biocomposites consisting of epoxy resin reinforced with glass fiber and filled with rice husk par-ticulates. In this work, the rice husk is used as a filler material. The effects of incorporation of rice husk in modifying the physical and mechanical properties of glass-epoxy composites have been studied. It is found that rice husk modifies the tensile, flexural, and the interlaminar shear strength of the glass-epoxy composites. The microhardness and density of the composites are also greatly influenced by the content of these fillers.
