Journalists throughout the world can incur criminal liability in a number of ways, including for breaches of official secrecy laws, contempt of court, and public morality in the form of anti-decency standards. In a two part article, David Goldberg and Danilo Leonardi survey the criminal liability of journalists from an international perspective and examine the topics and issues which present a legal threat to the media (apart from criminal defamation actions, which are not within the scope of the study).
