We'll begin with Hungarian giant Waberer's International Zrt, which was born out of state haulier Volan Tefu, first established in 1948. By 2004, just 10 years after leaving state ownership, 100,000m~2 of warehousing in Budapest was complete and Waberer's was pronounced Hungarian Company of the Year. Just over a decade on again and the Group now has a fleet of around 3,500 vehicles, 210,000m~2 of warehousing and subsidiaries in five other countries, including a UK arm which opened in Felixstowe last October. Major customers include Electrolux, Audi, Nestle, Samsung, IKEA and Bosch, and the group had a turnover of €530m 2014.
