Exports Witness a Downward Trend

As per the published data, it is reported that India's exports declined for the last five months considerably. In a statement released by the Commerce Ministry, Govt. of India recently, it was stated that exports contracted 10.8% from a year ago to US$ 23.7 Billion, while imports rose by 5.1% to US$ 41.8 Billion with oil imports jumping to US$ 14.1 Billion pushing up the trade deficit to an 11 month high of US$ 18.1 Billion.
