A lot of newsprint and talk-time has been dedicated of late to the pollution-related problems that the textile industry has faced in Tirupur, and more recently in Gujarat. As always, all the monitoring parameters to check on the health of our textile industry were placed in the North, South and West of India. Perhaps the decline of the entire industrial sector in East India (pervading across all sectors) over the years has brought about this.
