Hon'ble Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Union Budget 2021-2022 to the Parliament on 1st February 2021. She had included many far reaching reforms in the economy. Considering the COVID-19 pandemic, a substantial allocation of Rs.2.23 lakhs crores representing 1.37% hike including Rs.35000 crores for vaccination has been made. It is for the 1st time in the annals of Budget presentations that such a huge allocation has been made for the health sector. No changes in the income tax rates are proposed. Senior citizens of above 75 years will be very much delighted as they need not file their Income Tax returns, if their income is only from pension and bank interest.
