Eight times between 1949 and 1961, General Motors staged elaborate touring automobile shows largely remembered today for their spectacular "dream cars." While the first two were dubbed "Transportation Unlimited" (1949) and "Mid-Century Motorama" (1950), subsequent shows were titled "GM Motorama." Today, all are generally referred to simply as Motoramas.
