I recently experienced what Oprah calls an "Aha!" moment. It was not quite a full blown epiphany, but a bigger deal than a noncommittal yawn and an "Oh my." For many retailing years, I watched scrapbooking grow in popularity, taking over more and more space in craft stores and spawning its own genre of small retail stores as well. But before it took off at retail, it had an interesting start. I remember vividly this start. As I stocked shelves, customers would come up to me asking where my acid-free pens were located, or they wanted to know what archival glues I carried. In the beginning of scrapbooking, it was the customers who educated all retailers. This grassroots movement called Creative Memories (CM) grew awareness and excitement about creating lasting albums of photos embellished with jour-naling, stickers and papers to create a personal and customized keepsake.
