"Off the page and out of the album," is the refrain we heard throughout 2006. The magazines, trade shows and consumer shows offered ideas, inspiration, and plenty to ponder as retailers look to manufacturer offerings for 2007. Company consolidation and retailer atrophy remain an unfortunate reality, even as the creative vision of scrapbooking continues to evolve. There is no shortage of new papers, embellishments, rub-ons and surfaces. Savvy shop owners may have fewer vendor options, but still have more product choices than ever before.
