STATES ENACT MORE LAWS PROMOTING DEPLOYMENT OF NGVS

In March, several states enacted new, extended or amended incentives for natural gas vehicles (NGVs), according to NGV America, the industry's leading trade association in the United States (U.S.). Arkansas adopted into law the Clean Burning Motor Fuel Development Act, or Senate Bill 792. The law provides vehicle rebates for purchasing a new NGV or converting an existing vehicle to operate on natural gas. The rebates are worth 50 percent of the cost of qualified equipment or $4,500, whichever is less. Qualifying conversions must have been approved or certified by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
