CAR WARS ENCAMS STRIKES BACK

According to a recent Encams survey half the councils in England now have a major problem with abandoned cars, which can become an environmental eyesore and a magnet for anti-social behaviour, such as vandalism, drug use and prostitution. According to the survey a fair percentage of abandoned cars are dumped by joy riders, while some are used as get-away vehicles in serious offences. There is very little that Encams, or the councils, can do to curb that level of criminality, but with the help of councils across England we could at least ensure that any car that has reached the end of its useful life would be picked up and disposed of properly. Encams 2004 campaign targeted this major social problem.
