In the summer of 2005,Mott MacDonald was commissioned by the Office of Government Commerce (OGC) to research and analyse data on the waste management activities of local authorities in England.This was done with a view to assessing what facilities authorities were planning to build to meet the requirements of the EU Landfill Directive and the capacity of the industry to provide these facilities.
