£5m Plastics Funding

The scottish Government is making £5m of funding available through its Mixed Plastics Capital Grant Programme, in partnership with WRAP Scotland, providing around 30 percent of the investment required to develop new plastics recycling facilities in Scotland. WRAP Scotland director, lain Gulland, commented: "Only 15000 tonnes of plastic used by householders is collected for recycling in Scotland, with the majority of that being sent to Asia for processing. This funding will help develop plastics processing and recycling facilities, transforming Scotland's approach to managing plastic waste."
