Welsh Recycling Success

Recycling Rates in Wales are steadily increasing, according to the latest Municipal Waste Management statistics for October-December 2010, which show recycling and composting rates for the final three months of 2010 at 42 percent, five percentage points up on the previous year. Wales has a fixed target of 52 percent for the year 2012/13. The outgoing Environment Minister, Jane Davidson, welcomed the increase, saying: "It's wonderful to see that recycling during October to December was higher than for the same period in any other year, particularly when one considers the terrible weather much of Wales experienced in December.
