Bringing HWRCs Back In-House

In 2011 North Lincolnshire Council decided to return the management and operation control of its eight household recycling centres (HRC) sites to within its own service structure. This was completed by November 2012 with the 21 staff transferring under TUPE and becoming council employees. The sites had transferred to North Lincolnshire Council from the former county council at its creation as a unitary authority in 1996, but had been operated under a management contract by a private contractor.
