For vehicle manufacturers at the event, low emissions was by far the most pressing concern, and they were keen to discuss the range of options available to customers. 'Our target is zero emissions from Volvo trucks,' said Claudio Sivilotti, product manager, Volvo Trucks Italy. 'I don't know when this will happen, but that's the target.' Volvo is typical in that it is approaching the goal in a variety of ways. We are able to get a CO_2 reduction of seven per cent from our diesel engine,' said Sivilotti. 'Using liquid natural gas (LNG), we can achieve a cut of 20 per cent.'
