Terminal Expansion Nears Completion in Seattle

The Terminal 46 expansion project at the Port of Seattle, designed by the Seattle office of Moffatt & Nichol, is nearing completion. When finished, the terminal will encompass 88 acres (35 ha)—up from 70 acres (28 ha)— and include upgraded shipping facilities. The terminal is expected to accommodate approximately 330,000 TEUs, or twenty-foot equivalent units, by 2015. Moffatt & Nichol was responsible for planning and designing the expansion and continues to provide support during construction.
