摘要

The three most formidable challenges facing U.S. drinking water and wastewater utilities during the next 50 years are aging infrastructure, government regulations, and funding shortfalls, according to the responses to a questionnaire completed by more than 50 agencies serving nearly 43 million customers. Developed by researchers at the University of Cincinnati with assistance from three national drinking water and wastewater organizations, the questionnaire was intended to help the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in its efforts to improve utility performance.
